Walt Bones, former South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture and longtime farmer endorses Michael Saba.
Talented, hardworking people are the backbone of South Dakota and we need to work creatively to bring new jobs to our state. One of Saba’s top priorities is to recruit more American and international businesses to South Dakota.
For over 40 years, Michael has helped American and international businesses grow and enter new markets. He served as former Vice President for International Development for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Executive Director of Development for Sanford Children's Clinics, and President of GULFAMERICA, an international business services company which facilitated trade between the U.S. and Asia. By engaging with the global community, we can bring more high quality jobs to all areas of South Dakota. Let’s work together to ensure our young leaders have a great job to keep them here!
The key to the success of our future is in the education of our children. Investing in high quality education and workforce development needs to be a priority.
Michael Saba's commitment to education is seen daily in his life. He frequently serves as a substitute teacher in the Sioux Falls School District and the West Central School District where he sees first-hand the dedication of our teachers and understands the resources they need to be successful. Saba also served as a teacher and training coordinator for the Peace Corps in Malaysia, Thailand, and Africa. Saba will advocate for teachers, high quality education, and initiatives that prepare our students to be career and college ready.
South Dakota is well positioned for economic growth because of the innovative spirit of its entrepreneurs, small business owners, and exporters. Michael Saba's plans for economic development bring everyone in the community together to work together for a stronger South Dakota. No one should be left out of the American dream.
As a prior small business owner, Saba is committed to working across the aisle to help startups and small businesses grow. He supports smart trade and immigration policies that help our farmers and manufacturers access global markets and talent. Saba will also facilitate community partnerships that connect individuals and businesses with workforce development and research resources.
From Michael: Our Dakota Life
I've lived my life a proud Dakotan. My work has taken me to the far corners of the world, but the call of Dakota life keeps me grounded. My life's work has shown me that we have a great thing going here, but we can use fresh ideas to make the dream work for all.
We want our South Dakotan people to maintain their reputation for being the independent, hard-working people they are. For generations, South Dakota parents have fed and educated their children so that they could in turn provide for their families. This is what we work for - a place for our children in South Dakota.
There's more we must do to capture and encourage the excitement of these kids to stay here in South Dakota to build their future.
We can grow a stronger economy by blending new ideas with our strong faith to build a life for our children and us. We can support existing companies and recruit new businesses that value our reputation for hard, honest work; we can prioritize our teachers and schools; and we can implement inclusive economic development strategies that work for all.
Serving in the South Dakota House to represent the residents of District 9 would be one of the highest honors of my life. I am confident that we can work together to improve our community and the state of South Dakota.
Thank you for your support.
